HOW TO CARE FOR
YOUR BASKETS

You will get years of use from your basket by:

Sun or fan drying if basket gets wet.

Make sure basket is completely dry before storing away as mould could form if still damp.

Spraying with diluted clove oil to prevent mould in humid climates.

Clean basket with a damp cloth (we don’t recommend the use of soaps or cleaning products as this could affect the natural dyes)

Natural dyes used to colour the baskets may fade over time. Avoid leaving baskets in the sun for extended periods of time.

HOW TO SHAPE YOUR MARKET BASKET

Your market basket may come to you folded down to assist in the shipping process. Reshaping your basket is easy and fun to do, by following the steps below:

Hold the handle of the basket in one hand and push the basket from the inside out with your other hand.

Thoroughly wet basket with water (using a hose, under a tap or submerge in water)

Take care not to wet the leather handle.

Leave basket for a minute to soak in the water and become pliable.
Use your hands to mould the item back to its original shape. Pushing and moulding from both the inside and the outside of the basket, to finish with a nice round shape. The basket is very malleable so can be easily reshaped over and over until the desired shape is achieved.

To achieve a flat bottom, hold the handle and push the base of the basket towards the ground to flatten.

Dry the basket out in the sun or under a fan. It will harden up once dry and hold the new shape it’s been moulded to. (Make sure basket is completely dry before storing away as the natural grass may go mouldy if still damp)
